On the 10th of December, the electrical machine and manufacturing community came together at Factory 2050 for the final FEMM Hub Conference.
Hub Director, Professor Geraint Jewell, opened the event, before introducing our first keynote of the day - Professor Rossi Setchi who presented "The Role of Neuro-symbolic AI in Human centred Robotics". Presentations from FEMM hub Grand Challenge 1 (Manufacturing led-innovation in electrical machines" and 2 (Process innovation, monitoring and simulation) followed before we heard updates from two of our feasibility studies - Dr Pedram Asef from UCL and Dr Yongjing Wang from the University of Birmingham.
Delegates had the opportunity to view posters over lunch before our industry keynote, Dr Tim Woolmer from Yasa, kicked off the afternoon presenting "YASA @59kW/kg - why it matters and what are the applications?". Presentations from our cross-cutting and aligned projects followed, before Professor Geraint Jewell, Dr David Moule (ZF) and Simon Swallow (Rotary Engineering) took to the stage to discuss their final reflections on the FEMM Hub’s research and achievements.
