FEMM Hub attends Sustainability Conference at  Alvier Mechatronics, Sweden

Glynn Atkinson Visited Alvier Mechatronics (a Hoganas company) for their Sustainability conference in Helsingborg, Southern Sweden on 21st May.  In the morning Alvier showcased their developments in electrical machines for automotive applications using laminated steel and Soft Magnetic Composites, plus developments  in electromagnetic, thermal and fluid particle simulations applied to automotive applications.

The sustainability conference in the afternoon included presentations from Volvo Trucks, Lund University, Alvier, Hoganas, Additive Drives and McKinsey and Company.  The common theme was the need to understand the full lifecycle cost of a product, its materials and lifetime energy use, and design this into the system during the development phase.
