FEMM Hub speaks at the Electric Drive Production Conference, Germany

Dr Alexei Winter attended the Electric Drive Production Conference (EDPC) in Regensburg, Germany last week, representing both the University of Sheffield AMRC and the FEMM Hub. He shared his thoughts on the conference:

"I was pleased to be able to deliver a paper on the work done to produce hollow conductor coils that had been undertaken previously at the AMRC. The research was started by Dr Steve Forrest at the University of Sheffield, and we took it on and finished it off. The results of the work were encouraging and my presentation garnered a lot of interest from the delegates, several of whom stayed behind to talk to me further about the subject.  The conference was interesting as usual, with winding and insulation being particularly prominent themes. It was great to make contact again with researchers in European institutes such as TU Aachen, FAPS at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. I am pursuing potential collaborative projects with several of these."
