Mehmet C. Kulan received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey in 2011 and he obtained M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne U.K., in 2013 and 2018 respectively, as part of Electrical Power Research Group, School of Engineering. His research interests include applied electromagnetics, thermal management of electrical machines and finite element modelling of electric motors and generators.
He is currently working on different types of rotating machines including novel 3-D flux electric motor topologies at Newcastle University, Electrical Power Research Group. At the FEMM hub, he is actively investigating the mechanical and electromagnetic performance of stator segmentation in advanced electrical machines. He recently served as guest editor on a special issue of MDPI Energies on electromagnetic and thermal modelling of electrical machines. He has also authored/co-authored more than 25 research papers in international journals and conference.
