Luke is a Research Associate working within the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Sheffield. During his PhD he focused on the development of a novel damage model for electric machine laminations and the associated experimental calibration using digital image correlation. His work with the FEMM hub includes providing experimental support for the characterisation of materials, finite element analysis for validation of the mechanical aspects of the work, and the investigation of cut edge damage in blanking.
