Team - Luke Saunders

Dr Anna Ermakova holds an MSc in Aerospace Engineering from Coventry University and an EngD in Additive Manufacturing from the University of Strathclyde. Her doctoral thesis focused on the structural integrity assessment of Wire Arc Additively Manufactured (WAAM) steel components. With over four years of experience in conventional manufacturing methods for metals and plastics, gained in China where she worked as a project engineer.

In November 2023, Anna joined the University of Bristol as a Research Associate in Additive Manufacturing of Electrical Machines. Her work with the FEMM Hub involves contributing to the Dry Motor concept, utilising Additive Manufacturing (AM) for targeted cooling; developing design tools for high-performance AM coils; creating measurement protocols for the electrical properties of AM materials, and adapting existing post-processing techniques for AM-built windings.
